It’s rainy. It’s snowy. It’s winter…so it must be hibernation season.

When the weather (or the season) keeps you indoors, take advantage of your down time with a little R&R.

It may seem a little obvious that resting is the key to good health, but here are 4 reasons why R&R really matters:

  1. R&R lets you recharge your batteries. The work week is often stressful, and sleep may be hard to come by if you’re anxious, worried, or just downright busy. R&R lets you catch up on much needed rest.
  2. R&R helps to keep you healthy. If you’re run down, you’re less likely to fight off infections. Studies show that adults need at least 7 hours of sleep to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
  3. R&R lets you play catch up. That new book that’s been sitting on your nightstand for weeks? Read it. That cooking blog you’ve wanted to start for months now? Start it. R&R lets you catch on things you’ve wanted to get into lately, but haven’t had the time to start. Take advantage of this time!
  4. R&R gives you “you time.” Whatever that means to you…do it!

When’s the last time you stayed in and just relaxed? It’s a nice feeling!

Happy New Year!

The first day of the new year is always refreshing and fun for me. Instead of reflecting on the past, I see the start of the new year as an opportunity to look into the future.

As I return to my normal work schedule, I’m excited, organized, and ready to take on the new year.
